My Approach

As a supervisor I offer clinical supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists from multi-modalities. I work with both student and qualified counsellors. I have experienced supervising therapists trained in a range of modalities, such as CBT, pluralistic and person-centred. As well as working with counsellors and therapists I am happy to offer supervision to anyone working within a helping role.

I am an experienced person-centred integrative therapist with 11 years of supervised practice with clients. I completed my Certificate in Supervision validated by COSCA between January 2020 – February 2021 and I am qualified and insured to offer supervision face to face, online and via the telephone.

I offer a process oriented approach to supervision, both relational and systemic, which is a framework developed by Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet called "The Seven Eyed Model of Supervision" The seven aspects this framework focuses on are:

  • The Clients Process
  • Therapeutic Interventions
  • The Supervisees Process
  • The relationship between the client and supervisee
  • The Supervisors Process
  • The relationship between the Supervisee and the Supervisor
  • The wider Context

I hold accreditation status as a counsellor with the BACP adhering to their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and as a qualified supervisor I also adhere to and draw on the BACP’s Supervision Competence Framework.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can you offer in supervision?

I seek to build a strong working alliance where trust can be established to allow for a safe harbor for you as a therapist to come and share how things are “really” going in relation to your therapeutic work. I endeavor to offer an effective supervisory relationship which fosters a non-judgmental approach, offering both support and appropriate challenge.

I aim to provide you with my warmth and respect for you as a fellow therapist, my curiosity for your experiences and process with your clients and how this affects you. My commitment is to be present where you are, to be an active agent in our supervisory relationship and to draw on my facilitative skills, knowledge and experience to provide an exploratory and educative supervisory relationship which promotes your professional growth and development.

Where can we meet?

I offer supervision face to face from an accessible room on Biggar High Street (ML12) online via live video link or via the telephone. I would also be happy to discuss meeting at a venue within the Clydesdale area.

How much does it cost?

The fee is £45 per 1 hour of supervision and discounted rates are available for students or those affected by low income.
